Social Impact of Acne
Having a pimple sitting at the tip of your nose can be
normal for those who seldom have them. They may think that
the little red devil is just a part of growing up. But that
is not always the case, because there are some who suffer
from severe acne problems that need constant medical
assistance. With people who are enslaved by the chains of
the skin menace called acne, it's not only their health that
is crippled. Having the dreaded skin disease can weaken a
person's self-esteem and ruin his relationship with other
people.
There are numerous social impacts of acne on millions of
people suffering from it. People who have acne tend to
withdraw themselves from the crowd because they are
embarrassed with how they look. They also have low
self-esteem and some lose their confidence because of the
embarrassment that they feel whenever they are in public.
These social impacts often result to depression,
frustration, and discouragement in pursuing opportunities in
life like schooling, employment, and socialization.
People who suffer from serious acne conditions should
realize that treating acne is possible as long as they
consult dermatologists or skin specialists, and follow the
medications given to them. Doctors advise that a right
treatment can solve acne problems. People who have healthy
skin should also be open-minded and sensitive in mingling
with those who have acne to make them feel accepted and
important. After all, everybody gets a pimple in one way or
another.
